This maintenance has been scheduled and the notification below has been sent out to all VPS customers.

Dear Customers,

We are scheduling an emergency maintenance for tommorow, Tuesday 12/07/2004 at 3:00 AM Eastern Time (GMT -05:00, ~12 hours from now). All VPS host nodes, except VPS4, will be upgraded to the latest kernel; VPS4 kernel has been upgraded to the latest kernel yesterday, during the maintenance window while we upgraded VPS4 memory. The kernel upgrade is necessary to close the vulnarabilities discovered recently.

Unfortunately, due to the necessity and urgency of this maintenance, we will not be able to schedule it 24 hours ahead of time under our normal scheduled maintenance window. All VPS customers, except those customers on VPS4, will be affected. Prior to the maintenance work, your VPS will be shut down and the VPS host nodes will be restarted. Once the host node is up, your VPS will be restarted again, one by one. We expect the total downtime for all VPS to be no more than 30 to 45 minutes.

On this ocassion, we would also perform HSPc upgrade, from 2.1 to 3.0. This will affect control panel service and the upgrade should take no more than 2 hours. We plan to perform HSPc upgrade at 03:00 AM - 05:00 AM Eastern Time (GMT -05:00). This upgrade should not affect your VPS functionality. Should you have any further questions/concerns regarding this maintenance window, please do not hesitate to contact us at support[at]fluidhosting.com. Please do not reply to this email directly since your reply may not be attended to.

Sincerely,
Administrators
