The following email notifications have been sent to all customers currently hosted at Equinix network.

Dear Valued Customers,

In about 6-7 hours, we will perform a maintenance work on our network. The maintenance will involve adding another layer of a core switch as well as adding a BGP capable router. This maintenance is necessary to build up our BGP network in our Equinix data center and to make sure we have a redundant network to build upon in the future. By tonight, we should be able to turn on our first BGP-ed network between Peer1 and Internap and will make our network to be redundant as well as multi-homed. In the next one week, we will be testing this BGP network. In the next two to four weeks, more network(s) will be added to this BGP mix.

Unfortunately, there will be downtime associated with this maintenance work. Although we have planned just about everything to make sure the downtime to be minimized as soon as possible, we would like to schedule a 60-90 minutes window on this maintenance. During this maintenance window, the network may be intermittent and may suffer brief outages of ~5-15 minutes each. After this maintenance work is completed, you may be able to enjoy a much more solid network. You may need to have your IP renumbered in order to be on the full BGP network. Please contact us at noc[at]fluidhosting.com for further information.

Due to some cirmcumstances, we are not able to schedule this 24 hours ahead of time as our TOS will require. And thus, we do not consider this a scheduled maintenance window. Any outages more than what our SLA provide you will be considered as a unscheduled downtime and will be compensated in accordance to our SLA.

Should you have any questions/concerns regarding this maintenance window, please do not hesitate to contact us at noc[at]fluidhosting.com.

Sincerely,
Dave Tong
