Dear ${account.ci.first_name},

This email notification is to inform you about the upcoming emergency scheduled maintenance. You are receiving this email because you have account(s) residing on this server, and thus your service will be affected.

During the past six days, the web server hosting your website(s) has been stalling twice. At this moment we do not know the reasons for this problem. We can only guess that the problem relies in the server motherboard and/or other components. To prevent any future downtime, we are going to replace the server motherboard and other components by swapping the CPUs, memory, and the drives to another identical server. We hope the new server motherboard and other components will solve the problem.

Due to the nature of the problem, we are scheduling this maintenance as en emergency maintenance.

We will also take this opportunity to install a Hot Spare drive. Currently this web server is running 4 drives in RAID5 configuration. With this configuration, we can sustain one drive failure without causing any impact. The Hot Spare drive will act as a backup drive in the event there is a drive failure. As soon as the RAID system detects a failing drive, it will start to copy all data from that failing drive to the Hot Spare drive. This RAID5 + Hot Spare drive will allow us to sustain up to two drive failure.

We estimate the total downtime to be around 15-30 minutes. During this time, your website will not be available. No other services will be affected.

Should you have any questions and/or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us at support[at]fluidhosting.com. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Both my site and forum are still down as of this writing. I'm guessing things have not progressed as smoothly as anticipated.

Awaiting patiently.

There's unforseen problem with the new server, so any maintenance is halted and postponed until further notices. Also, one of the HD on web3 happened to die as well. Luckily, we have RAID5 set up, which allow one HD to failed without affecting any data, so we replace the failed HD and it's being rebuilt while the server is running. Currently the webserver web3 is already up and running. The other servers are untouched and never experiencing any downtime at all.
