Hello all. I'm looking into hosting options to set up a site that has a webcam broadcast once or twice a month. I will be needing a direct connection in order to do this, but because it will only be done every so often I would rather go with a cheaper option than a dedicated server. The setup will be:
User broadcasting connects to server using RED5
server broadcasts stream (audio and video) to users viewing stream.

My questions are:
Can I establish a direct connection with Virtual Private Servers?
Do these servers have a high enough bandwidth connection to server video and audio live to multipler viewers?

Hi Mctitiles,

Thank you for your interest in our service.

A VPS acts like a dedicated server. Almost everything you can do with a dedicated server can be done with a VPS. I can't imagine any reason why this can't be accomplished. I know some of our customers have used our VPS to broadcast audio or use it for VoIP server without any problem.

All of our server nodes are connected to our the switch via 100 Mbps pipe. You should not have any problem serving video/audio live to multiple viewers.

Let us know if you still have any further questions/concerns. We are looking forward to working with you.
