Hi, Emily,
I don't work here - I'm just a satisfied customer who subscribes to Forum updates! Although this thread is pretty lively, I haven't found the forums here to be the most timely resource - others would say that's because the service works so well, no one has any issues! In my experience, Fluid Hosting staff has been very responsive to the Trouble Ticket system - I don't know if they've hooked up to whatever Ticket system Steadfast had, but I assume they will do so soon if they haven't already. I haven't seen anything from FH staff on Twitter... Regards, EricF |

You forgot to mention that Fluid Support re-sent the Welcome mail to you within 19 minutes from the moment you first submitted a ticket. In the same reply I sent you a part of the maillogs showing that mail was delivered to your gmail mailbox successfully. |

I'm having the same email related problem. Many of the Fluidhosting emails are going into my gmail spam folder. I have just created a filter so hopefully that problem is solved.
Now a couple questions for fluidhosting staff: I've seen this one asked before but no answer; some of us have nozonenet.com subdomains, will we be able to keep these? timeframe on this? Will I have to change my nameservers from ns1, ns2.steadfast.net? timeframe on this? How long will we have to go to steadfast.net to login to our control panel? How long will we be located in the steadfast datacenter? |

I personally don't have the answers to all of your questions, but I can answer this one:

John, I am also a Steadfast customer. When you replace the servers in Steadfast's datacenter will these servers be allocated the same IPs or new IPs ??. I have received no emails in last 2 weeks or so. What is happening regards the migration of services from Steadfast to Fluid ??. Geoff

Geoff,
Although, we are also open for other possibilities/data centers, a this moment, we are still planning to colo our equipments within Steadfast's network. While Steadfast allows us to use their IP space, we will eventually have to migrate all customers to our own IP space [Not to worry, because we have done this a few years ago when we migrated all of our equipments from Internap Boston to Equinix Secaucus]. The IP migration might be done at the same time we migrate all customers to our own servers. We are still planning each step at this moment and we can't give ETA. But all of this (server and IP migrations) need to be completed by January 27th, 2011.

Understand what you say. In the greater scheme of things it would be better to do the server and IP migrations and DNS changes all at the same time. With a January 27 deadline I would asume the process is well underway. Also, with the change can we have more than a 24 hour window to update please ??. Geoff |

Geoff,
My apology for the late reply. We are still working on migration plan. Most likely, we will do both servers and IP migration at the same time. This will be done within the next 4-6 weeks. We are still not sure yet when we will change the server hostnames (i.e. *.steadfast.net or *.nozonenet.com). Steadfast did not give us any hard time when we must make the hostname change. Thus, it is on a lower priority at this moment. But we are planning to combine Steadfast cluster into our cluster, at which point hostname will change. No ETA on this yet. We will make sure we plan this migration carefully. And we will also make sure we communicate with customers. You should expect to receive notification well more than 24 hours in advance. Thank you.

Dave,
No problems. We all get busy from time to time. Thank you for the update. Greatly appreciated. The 24 hour notice was a concern, hence my question. I have seen hosts give clients less then 24 hours notice to update. The results can be somewhat interesting and devastating to say the least !!. Anyway, I am happy to stay. Thanks again. Geoff |
